最近は、Workersの展示会にお邪魔させて頂き、
個人オーダーさせて頂いた商品を、少量ですがTCBでも取り扱わせて頂くスタイルを取っています。

そんなWorkersから届いたのが、少し気の早いオープンカラーシャツ。

一つは、リゾートらしいブラックリネン。
もう一つは、インド製の魚柄プリント。こちらはコットン素材になります。

なるほどなと思ったのが、腰にひっそりと付くフラップ付きのポケット。

少し良いリゾートホテルに泊まった時、
朝食やプールに向かうタイミングで意外と困るのが、
「ルームキーと携帯、どう持つ？」問題。

手に持つのも違うし、バッグも持ちたくない。
まして海外なら、なおさら気を使う。

そんな時に、腰にこのポケットがあったら——あら一安心。

ポケットに預けて、プールサイドで寝転がって、
トロピカルなカクテルでも飲みながら昼寝。

……なんて想像をしながら、
結局、旅行のカタログには付箋を貼ったまま、ゴミ箱行き。

でも、その“想像トリップ”だけでも、ちょっと楽しい。

そんな気分にさせてくれる、OPENカラーシャツです。

もう一つは、TCBの別注でもお世話になり大好評だった
Catカレッジシリーズ。

この企画は、よく2人で行く児島の焙煎所で、
コーヒーを飲みながら生まれたもの。

場所は、辰吉丈一郎とTCBの工場長が卒業した味野中学校の目の前。
ローカルな話ですが、こういう場所から服は生まれたりします。

以下、Workersのホームページより。

「今年はプリントを追加。何をやろうかな？と
TCB井上君と茶のみ話していると『そりゃもうカレッジ系ですよ！』。

カレッジ系の動物……そうだ、Wild Catsだ！と文字は決まったものの、
イラストが無い。

そこで、ついにAIの登場。
ChatGPTに、うちの茶トラ猫・お茶君をベースにカレッジ風に。

『もう少し口を閉じて』『怒った表情で』と試行錯誤を繰り返し、
半日かけて満足いくデザインができました。」

ChatGPTで描いたことをここまで堂々と書くのも彼らしいし、
半日かけてるのもどうなんだという話もあるけど、
服なので、最終的に良ければそれでいい。

猫が路地裏で井戸端会議をするように、
猫好きの2人のおじさんが盛り上がって出来たTシャツ。

そんな背景も含めて、楽しんで頂けたら嬉しいです。
Recently, I’ve been visiting the Workers exhibition and placing personal orders,
then bringing in a small selection to TCB. That’s the style we’ve been working with.
What arrived this time from Workers is a slightly early open-collar shirt.
One comes in a resort-like black linen.
The other is a fish-print shirt made in India, in cotton.
What really made me think “that’s clever” is the discreet flap pocket placed at the waist.
When you stay at a slightly nicer resort hotel,
there’s always that moment when you head to breakfast or the pool and wonder—
“Where do I put my room key and my phone?”
Holding them in your hand doesn’t feel right,
and you don’t really want to carry a bag.
Especially when you’re overseas, you tend to be even more careful.
In moments like that, having this pocket at your waist—
it just solves everything.
You toss them in, stretch out by the pool,
and maybe drift off with a tropical cocktail in hand.
…At least, that’s the kind of scene I imagine.
In reality, the travel catalog stays bookmarked
and eventually ends up in the trash.
Still, even that little “trip in your head” is kind of fun.
That’s the kind of feeling this open-collar shirt gives you.
The other piece comes from the Cat College series,
which was also a big hit when we worked on a TCB exclusive before.
This idea was born at a small coffee roastery in Kojima,
where the two of us often go and talk over a cup of coffee.
It’s right in front of Ajino Junior High School,
where both boxer Joichiro Tatsuyoshi and TCB’s factory manager graduated.
A very local story—but sometimes, clothes are born in places like this.

“This year, we decided to add a print.
While chatting over tea with Inoue from TCB,
he said, ‘It’s got to be college-style!’
College animals… right, Wild Cats!
The lettering was decided, but there was no illustration.
That’s when AI finally came in.
We used ChatGPT to create a college-style design
based on our tabby cat, Ocha-kun.
‘Close the mouth a bit more,’ ‘Make it look angrier’—
after half a day of trial and error,
we finally got a design we were happy with.”
It’s very much like them to write so openly about using ChatGPT,
and whether spending half a day on it is efficient or not is another story—
but in the end, if the result is good, that’s all that matters.
Like cats gathering in an alley and chatting away,
this T-shirt was born from two cat-loving guys getting carried away.
