W杯以降、フランスへ渡る日本人選手のニュースが続き、日本中のサッカー少年たちに夢を与えている、そんな中。 TCBでも、今年1月からフランス・パリのSuper Stitchより“レンタル移籍”していたFumiyaが、パリへ戻ってしまいました。 「俺の頃は！」なんて言いたくはないけれど。 ジーンズを突き詰めるため、20歳で児島へ渡った私には、海外でミシンを踏むという発想はありませんでした。 それから時を経て、野球やサッカーの選手のように、ジーンズを仕事にする人たちが世界中で活躍する。 それは、本当に素晴らしいことだと思います。 田舎でジーンズの会社をやっていると、悲しいかな、 「会社を去った人間は破門だ！」 みたいな空気に出会うことがあります。 でも、私はそうは思いません。 もちろん、去られるのは寂しい。 そもそも私は、去られて寂しいと思える人としか、一緒に仕事をしていないから。 でも、誰もが自分の人生の主人公です。 だからこそ、次の場所でも一生懸命、自分の人生を生きていてほしい。 辞めたことや、新しい場所へ挑戦すること自体を、悪く言うつもりはありません。 もし私が何か文句を言うとしたら、それは挑戦したことではなく、挑戦した先で一生懸命やっていない姿を見た時なのかもしれません。 児島で5年働き、パリで1年働いた彼に言うには、少し失礼かもしれないけれど。 これから先、まだ何も決まっていないということは、何だってあり得るということ。 何にも無いってことは、何でも有りってこと。 以前にも書いた「二つの夢（ゆめ）」を大切に、これからも頑張ってほしいと思うばかりです。 FUMIYA IN PARIS — SEASON 2、スタートです。 SEASON 3では、私もちょい役で出演したいので。 また、いつでも遊びにおいで！
Since the World Cup, news of Japanese players making the move to France has been inspiring young footballers all across Japan.
Meanwhile at TCB, Fumiya—who joined us “on loan” from Super Stitch in Paris this January—has now returned to Paris.
I hate to be one of those people who says, “Back in my day…” but when I moved to Kojima at the age of 20 to pursue denim, the idea of going overseas to work behind a sewing machine never even crossed my mind.
Now, years later, more and more people in our trade are taking their skills around the world, just like professional baseball and football players.
I think that is truly something wonderful.
When you run a jeans company in a small denim town, sadly, you sometimes encounter the attitude that:
“Anyone who leaves the company is dead to us!”
But that is not how I see it.
Of course, it is sad when someone leaves.
After all, I only work with people I would genuinely miss if they were gone.
But everyone is the main character in their own life.
That is why I want them to keep giving it their all and living life on their own terms, wherever they go next.
I would never criticize someone simply for leaving or for choosing to take on a new challenge.
If I ever had anything to say, it would probably only be if I saw them stop giving their best after taking that leap.
After five years working in Kojima and another year in Paris, perhaps it is a little unfair to say this about him.
But when nothing about the road ahead has been decided, anything is possible.
When there is nothing, there can be anything.
As I have written before, I simply hope that he will continue to treasure those “two dreams” and keep moving forward.
