これまで、カバーオールを沢山作ってきました。
なのに、どうしてエンジニアJKは作ってこなかったんだろう。
出来上がってから初めて、そんなことを思いました。
当時、カバーオールではなく、この形を必要とした人たちがいた。
そして、その人たちのために作った人たちがいた。
襟がなく、丈が短い。
その形に込められた工夫は、時を経た今、普段の服として袖を通しても感じられます。
働く場所や着る理由が変わっても、この服を作る意味と、着る意味がある。

We’ve made so many chore coats over the years.
So why had we never made an engineer jacket?
It was only after finishing this one that the thought crossed my mind.

Back then, there were people who needed this particular design rather than a chore coat.
And there were people who made it for them.

No collar. A shorter length.
Even today, when you slip it on as an everyday jacket, you can still appreciate the thought that went into its design.

The places we work and the reasons we wear it may have changed, but there is still a reason to make this jacket—and a reason to wear it.
