今年もこの季節に、
デタッチャブルシャツを作らせて頂きます。

元々は、
「夏に着れるリネンシャツを作りたい」
と思ったのがキッカケでした。

でも、
ただリゾートっぽい雰囲気のリネンシャツを作るだけなら、
シンプルな仕様になるし、
「それをTCBで作る意味は有るのか？」
と毎年の様に自問自答します。

その結果、
1900年代初頭の、
襟が取り外せる少し“やり過ぎ”なくらいのワークシャツをベースにする事で、
TCBらしいバランスになった気がしています。

まだワークとトラッドの境界が曖昧だった頃の空気感。

サイドから見た時に美しい、
前後差のある裾のラインも特徴です。

ホワイトはリネン100%。

ベージュストライプは、
綿53%、麻47%。

「今この時期に長袖？」
と思われそうですが、
真夏の太陽の下では、
Tシャツ一枚よりも意外と涼しく感じるのが、
このシャツの面白いところです。

ここ数年、
この時期に少量だけ作り続けていますが、
毎年ありがたい事に好評を頂いている、
TCBの夏の定番シャツになりました。

早速キュンに着せて、
100年以上前のアメリカの片田舎の写真館で撮られた様なポートレートを撮ろうと思ったのですが、
完成したのは、
ボロアパートで暮らす売れない漫画家みたいな写真でした。笑

でも、
シャツはかなり良い雰囲気に仕上がったと思うので、
是非楽しみにして頂けたら嬉しいです。
When summer comes, it’s when we’re making our Detachable Collar Shirts.
Originally, the idea stemmed from wanting to create a linen shirt suitable for summer.
However, simply creating a resort-style linen shirt would result in a simple design, and asking myself every year, “Is there any point in making just a simple shirt at TCB?”
As a result, I feel that basing it on a slightly over-the-top work shirt from the early 1900s with a detachable collar has achieved a balance that is distinctly TCB.
It evokes the atmosphere of a time when the boundaries between workwear and traditional wear were still blurred.

Another distinctive feature is the beautiful, asymmetrical hemline, visible from the side.
The white one is 100% linen. The beige stripe version is 53% cotton and 47% linen.

“Long sleeves in summer?”
You might be thinking that, but the interesting thing about this shirt is that, surprisingly, it feels cooler than just a T-shirt under the midsummer sun as it’s much more breathable.
For the past few years, we’ve been making these shirts in small quantities at this time of year, and thankfully, they’ve been well-received every year, becoming a summer staple at TCB.
