まだまだ暑いとはいえ、岡山の暑さも少しピークアウトしたのかな？と思える時間が増えてきました。
デニム好きには、嬉しい季節が少しずつ近づいています。
毎年のことですが、お盆の時期になると、秋の準備といいますか、上下デニムのセットアップや、カバーオールのような羽織りものを探しに来られる方が増えてきます。
そして今年、もう一つ多かったのがショップコートでした。
今日の写真は、Cathartt Traveller Coat。
インディゴ染めのリップストップを使ったコートなのですが、ガンガン着て洗いを繰り返すと、色が褪せるとともに、リップストップ特有の格子柄がウインドウペンのように浮かび上がってきます。
新品の濃い状態も格好良いですが、着込んだものと並べてみると、その変化は一目瞭然です。
通常のGジャンなどは、なるべく洗いを抑えながら着て、くっきりとしたヒゲを付けたくなる私ですが、このコートに関しては、着用のたびに洗って、写真のような淡く、ムラのある色落ちを作るのも良いと思っています。

Although it is still very hot, there are more moments when it feels as though the worst of Okayama’s summer heat may finally be behind us.
For denim lovers, the season we have been waiting for is slowly approaching.
It happens every year around Obon: people begin preparing for autumn and come looking for matching denim setups or something to throw on, such as a coverall jacket.
Another item that received a lot of attention this year was the shop coat.
Today’s photos feature the Cathartt Traveller Coat.
This coat is made from indigo-dyed ripstop. As it is worn hard and washed repeatedly, the indigo gradually fades and the distinctive grid of the ripstop begins to emerge, almost like a windowpane check.
The deep indigo looks great when new, but when you place it next to a well-worn one, the transformation is clear to see.
With regular denim jackets, I usually try to wash them as little as possible so that I can develop sharp, well-defined whiskers. With this coat, however, I think it would be equally interesting to wash it after every wear and create the pale, uneven fading shown in these photos.
