先行販売中のNatural Cat Headや50’s Baggyも人気ですが、店頭で特に多いのは、秋に向けてデニムのセットアップをお探しのお客様です。
ちょうどお盆休みに合わせてLate S40’sを補充していたため、現在は上下ともに全サイズ揃っています。
サイズを選びながら、セットアップでご購入いただけるタイミングです。
Late S40’sといえば、専務がここ1年半ほど着用しているものを、今回あらためて写真に収めました。
新品のLate S40’sは、いわゆる大戦モデルからイメージするような濃紺でもなければ、ゴワゴワした生地でもありません。
そのため最初は、
「自分が想像していた大戦モデルとは、少し違う」
と感じる方もいるかもしれません。
でも、そこはあえて狙ったところ。
実際にVintageに存在した色をもとに再現しています。
強いヒゲが入るわけでもなく、激しいコントラストが出るわけでもない。
全体が自然に褪せて、少しずつボロボロになっていく。
その先に現れるのは、古着屋で見かける、
「コンディションは決して良くないけれど、頑張れば手が届きそうなVintageの大戦モデル」
のような表情です。
それこそが、Late S40’sの持ち味だと思っています。

TCB SHOP is open throughout the Obon holidays without a single day off.
The Natural Cat Head and 50’s Baggy, both available ahead of their general release, have been popular. However, many of our customers are already looking for a denim set-up to wear this coming fall.
We restocked the Late S40’s just in time for the Obon holidays, so both the jacket and jeans are currently available in every size.
It is a great opportunity to choose the right size for each and purchase them as a matching set.
Speaking of the Late S40’s, our Managing Director has been wearing his set for about a year and a half, so we took the opportunity to photograph it again.
When new, the Late S40’s is neither particularly dark nor made from the stiff, rigid denim that many people associate with wartime models.
Some people may initially feel,
“This is a little different from the wartime model I had imagined.”
But that is entirely intentional.
We recreated a shade that we found on actual Vintage examples.
It does not develop overly pronounced whiskers or extremely high-contrast fading.
Instead, the denim fades naturally across the entire garment and gradually becomes more worn and beaten up.
Eventually, it develops the kind of character you might find in a Vintage shop:
“An original wartime model whose condition is far from perfect, but whose price might still be within reach if you stretched your budget a little.”
That, to us, is the true character of the Late S40’s.
