最近は様々な生地でカバーオールを作ってきました。
当時もきっと、職業や環境によって選ばれる生地は違っていたはずです。
ヒッコリーも、ピンチェックも、確かに経年変化はします。
でも——
デニムほど“分かりやすく時間が刻まれる生地”は無いと思っています。
着た分だけ、動いた分だけ、
その人の生活がそのまま浮かび上がる。
今回は、私自身が長く着てきたカバーオールを並べてみました。
正直に書くと、
仕事で着用するならGジャンよりカバーオールの方が機能的です。
いつも同じ事を書いてしまいますが、
ペンや鍵、iPhone、AirPods。
正直、バッグ無しでも成立する。
作業の相棒として使う時も、
「小バサミが無い」「メジャーが無い」と慌てる自分にとって、
カバーオールは最強のジャケットになります。

Cat Headはまだまだこれからですが、
それぞれに違う時間の刻まれ方があって、どれも気に入っています。
ヴィンテージはそこまでヒゲは入らないよ、
そんな声もあるかもしれません。
でも——
“どう色落ちするか”ではなく、
“どう着たか”が出るのがデニムだと思っています。
嫌でも迫力が出るくらい着る。
それが自分のスタイルです。
Recently, we’ve been making coveralls in a variety of fabrics.
Back then as well, I imagine people chose their garments based on their jobs and the environments they worked in.
Hickory and pincheck both age beautifully.
But—
I don’t think there’s any fabric that records time as clearly as denim.
The more you wear it, the more you move in it,
your life simply starts to show on the surface.
This time, I wanted to line up a few coveralls that I’ve personally worn for years.
To be honest,
if I had to choose something for work, a coverall is far more functional than a denim jacket.
I know I say this all the time, but—
pens, keys, an iPhone, AirPods…
you can honestly get by without a bag.
When I’m using it as a work companion,
I’m the kind of person who’s always saying,
“Where are my scissors?” “Where’s my tape measure?”
For someone like me, a coverall is the ultimate jacket.

The Cat Head still has a long way to go,
but each one has aged in its own way, and I love them all.
Some might say vintage pieces don’t develop such strong whiskers.
But—
It’s not about how it fades.
It’s about how you wore it.
That’s what denim shows.
I wear mine until it fades with undeniable presence.
That’s my style.
