襟がなく、丈も短いBlack Cat Engineer Jacket。
そのベースとなったのは、主に屋内や狭い場所で働く人たちに向けて作られたワークウェアです。

古い英国車を整備する素敵な場所で撮影してきました。
そこで目に留まった、一台のバイク。
「このバイクはDreamですか？」
と聞いた私に、トライアンフとノートンをミックスした「トライトン」だと教えてくれました。
それを聞いて、思わず、
「大好きな漫画、『バイクメーン』ですね！」
と大興奮。笑
Black Cat Engineer Jacketを撮りに来たはずが、すっかりバイクの話に夢中になってしまいました。
でも、こうした場所で着てもらうと、このジャケットの襟のない形や短い丈が、働くために生まれたものだと改めて感じます。
普段は、シャツやTシャツの上にさらっと羽織って。
涼しくなれば、スウェットやフーディーを合わせても。
襟がないぶん、中に着るものとの組み合わせも楽しんで頂ける一着です。
整備の仕事をしている方はもちろん、古い車やバイクが好きな方にも、日々の相棒として着て頂けたら嬉しいです。
実はこの場所にはほかにも、『The Wild One』や『The Great Escape』の世界を思わせる車両や、エルシノアなど、気になるものが沢山。

With its collarless design and short length, the Black Cat Engineer Jacket is based on workwear made primarily for people working indoors or in confined spaces.

With that in mind, we took it to a wonderful workshop where vintage British vehicles are restored and maintained.

There, one motorcycle caught my eye.

“Is this a Dream?” I asked.

I was told it was a Triton—a combination of Triumph and Norton.

As soon as I heard that, I couldn’t help getting excited.
“Just like in one of my favorite manga, Bikemen!”

I had come to photograph the Black Cat Engineer Jacket, but soon found myself completely absorbed in talking about motorcycles. Haha.

Still, seeing the jacket worn in a place like this reminded me that its collarless design and short length were born out of the practical needs of working people.

For everyday wear, simply throw it on over a shirt or T-shirt.
As the weather cools down, try it over a sweatshirt or hoodie.
The collarless neckline makes it easy to enjoy different combinations with whatever you wear underneath.
