I recently wrote a blog post about Leica and the beautiful light I experienced while taking photographs in Germany.
After reading it, Serge, who lives in Berlin, got in touch. He told me he loves wandering the city in TCB denim with a Leica around his neck. I felt a connection from the very first line of his message.
Of all the photos he sent, the one that caught my eye most was taken in front of a wall covered in graffiti. Serge has a presence that holds its own against all that color, and the TCB denim looks right at home on him.
He’s wearing our 50’s Jacket and 50’s Jeans, and carrying a Leica M7 and Leica IIIf. The photos were taken by a friend of his with a Hasselblad 500 C/M on Portra 400 film. When I heard that, I went back for another look.
Jeans made in Kurashiki, worn on the streets of Berlin, and captured on film.
Thank you for sending these wonderful photos, Serge. I hope we can take some pictures together in Berlin someday.
