Cat a LogのChore JKに使っているヘリンボーン。実は、この生地もインディゴです。

ジーンズの上に羽織ると、上下ともに青い。それなのに、デニムを重ね着したときとは印象が違います。細かな織り柄が入ることで、同じインディゴの間に変化が生まれるのが面白いところです。

形はワークジャケットなのに、どこか上品に見えるのも、この生地の魅力。ヘリンボーンはウールのスーツやコートにも使われる織り柄です。オックスフォードのシャツを合わせて、少しトラッドに着るのも似合うと思います。

今はまだ濃い青ですが、この生地も着込むほどに色が褪せていきます。織り柄を残しながら、どんな青に変わっていくのか。そこも楽しみにしている一着です。

ジーンズは好きだけれど、上下を同じデニムで揃えるのは少し気恥ずかしい。そんな方にも、自分のジーンズの上に羽織ってみてほしいです。

Wear it over jeans and both pieces are blue. Yet it looks different from wearing a denim jacket with jeans. The fine weave gives each piece its own character, even though they share the same color.

The fabric also gives this work jacket an unexpected elegance. Herringbone is a weave used for wool suits and coats, too. I think it would look great with an Oxford shirt for a slightly more traditional look.

The blue is still deep now, but it will fade as the jacket is worn. I’m looking forward to seeing what shade it becomes and how the herringbone pattern looks along the way.
